Moseley is seeking a full-time Managing Principal to lead our K-12 sector in the greater Charlotte and western North Carolina region. As Managing Principal, you will serve as our primary representative for the K-12 sector, providing both strategic vision and day-to-day leadership in the Charlotte office. You will oversee and ensure high-quality project delivery and performance. Drawing on your deep expertise in the public education sector, you will play a pivotal role in advancing regional K-12 projects across North and South Carolina. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited university required.
Licensed Architect and 10+ years’ experience in architectural leadership required.
Ideal candidates will possess NCARB registration in addition to a LEED Green Associate or LEED Accredited Professional with specialty credential.
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and defines vision, strategy, and business plans while fostering a culture of external and internal client service.
Develops and executes marketing strategies by identifying new business opportunities and relationships, maintaining and growing current relationships, and ensuring Moseley’s standing in the marketplace.
Successfully executes defined practice goals and business plan.
Negotiates, prepares, and manages project contracts to include overall scope, schedule, budget, invoicing, billing, and workload projections.
Leads project programming, feasibility studies, and overall project development.
Attends regional marketing and business development opportunities. Participates in proposals, interviews, and presentations.
Assists in design, production, and construction administration matters to ensure responsible knowledge of the project.
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with external clients and internal team members with a collaborative relationship focused leadership style.
Creates a quality design while meeting the clients’ expectations and maintaining profitability goals.
Participates in mentoring and coaching of emerging professionals.

Required Skills:
Extensive experience in the programming and design of a broad range of educational facilities, including pre-K centers, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as career/technical and alternative education environments.
Demonstrated advanced understanding of current instructional trends, space planning, technical and regulatory requirements.
Recognized for creativity, leadership, and a strong passion for the planning and design of innovative K-12 learning environments.
Capable of working in a collaborative team environment with an integrated design approach, leading the design effort for multiple projects.
Delivery of compelling public presentations tailored to community groups, school boards, and funding authorities.
Diligence in monitoring progress, identifying potential problems and designing solutions as necessary.
Thorough knowledge of applicable sustainability principles, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
Strong communicator with proven ability to convey ideas clearly in both verbal and written forms, including client interactions, presentations, and negotiations.
Expertise in creating and leading community and stakeholder engagement.
Extensive understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budget.
Software Proficiencies:
Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
Understanding of Autodesk Revit and prior experience in SketchUp/Rhino/Grasshopper preferred.
