Quality Control Reviewer – Electrical

QC opportunity at Moseley!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Quality Control Reviewer - Electrical to help ensure the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance across all sectors. As a subject matter expert, you’ll review projects alongside our QC team to check for coordination across disciplines, adherence to industry codes, project specifications, and quality expectations, as well as collaborating with engineers to provide advice and knowledge. An ideal candidate is knowledgeable, thorough, communicates effectively, and committed to maintaining excellence at every stage of project execution.
Location: Richmond, VA

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma with 15+ years experience in electrical design, preferably with large institutional or commercial projects from design through construction
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 10+ years experience in electrical design, preferably with large institutional or commercial projects from design through construction
  • Professional Engineer license preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a positive professional working relationship with team members while working together in a collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to achieve successful and quality projects
  • Regularly review project teams’ drawings and project manual for coordination, quality, and code compliance; With an emphasis on interdisciplinary coordination, reducing errors, omissions, and potential change orders
  • Manage the engineering quality control review process for projects undergoing review
  • Support the engineering project design process by clearly and promptly communicating the firm’s quality philosophy and aligning it with overall project and organizational goals
  • Establish and manage historical records of project issues and problem areas and provide guidance to team members to prevent recurrence in future projects
  • Support project teams in adopting and integrating emerging applications, equipment, and codes
  • Participate in mentoring and coaching of emerging professionals
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills:
  • Capable of working in a collaborative team environment to meet specific deadlines
  • Diligence in monitoring progress, identifying potential problems, and designing solutions as necessary
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Expert knowledge of building design, construction, and documentation
  • Expert knowledge in codes and standards such as NEC, IECC, and IEBC
  • Knowledgeable in codes and standards such as IBC, IMC, IPC, and ASHRAE
Software Proficiencies:
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required
  • Bluebeam experience preferred
  • Autodesk Revit (BIM) experience preferred
